New Farm Town Harvest Planner

By Jethro Hill July 14th, 2011

Farm Town Harvest PlannerHowdy Neighbors! I just released a little app I been working on for you called the “Farm Town Harvest Planner”. I will add a direct link to our site menu but I wanted to post about it here to get your feedback. It is certainly not perfect but has been fun for me to create and even more fun to share with my friends. Here are the basics.

Description – Use the Harvest Planner to calculate harvest times for each crop you currently have growing and to help you decide which crops to plant next. The Planner will tell you when a farm will need harvesting and what products can be made from that crop. You can run scenarios on all 10 farms or hide farms you don’t own or use for dirt farming. You can also print the results or copy the page and paste it in an email to yourself.

This is not a program you have to download or install. The Farm Town Harvest Planner resides on our website here so you don’t have to add it through Facebook or anything. I recommend bookmarking it on your Bookmarks Toolbar for quick access.

Download Your Farm Town Crop List

By Jethro Hill July 10th, 2011

Welcome to Farm Town Weekly. It has been a long time since I’ve made a post and gosh I sure miss doing the show each week.  I have been occasionally posting to our Farm Town Weekly Fan Page since it seems to be the fastest and easiest way to connect with everyone. I’ve enjoyed having some extra time in the last week or so and have been a Farming Maniac. I’ve used some of this time to create a new “Crop List” that includes the new crops added in the July 8th, 2011 update.

Each crop listed is categorized by harvest time and I find it pretty handy to have it printed out and near my computer when I’m farming to help me decide what to plant. Print it out or just save to to your desktop if you prefer. Either way, I hope you find it useful.

Farm Town Weekly Says Farewell

Farm Town Weekly Says Farewell

Greetings! We very much enjoyed spending another Monday evening among friends with whom we might never have met if not for this remarkable game and their willingness to support community outside the isometric arena of Farm Town.

The primary focus of this episode was to discuss the most recent update which roundly delivered new levels, crops, items and features. It was a very nice evening spent talking over these topics with friends, but ended quite somberly as I had to announce that there will be no more new episodes of Farm Town Weekly being recorded on Monday evenings.

We did intend to deliver a fourth season however due to circumstances and events unseen in our forecast, we will be unable to do so at least not at the present time. Please listen for more details and thank you all so very much for your support over the last 12 months.

May 21st Farm Town Update

By Jethro Hill May 22nd, 2010

By now you have probably already seen the posts to your Facebook wall where your friends have bought everything from an Oil Refinery to a Taco Restaurant. Those clever little possums at Slashkey even added a small and large Sea Coast to enhance the fishing feature added in the previous recent update. Here is a copy of the post Raul made to the official forum where he announced the details of the new version.

Hey there, We just released a new version with the following features:

1. Small Sea Coast (coins): Allows you to catch Haddock, Dolfin, Swordfish, Mackerel, Eel and Crab

2. Big Sea Coast (32 FC): Allows you to catch Cod, Grouper, Swordfish, Mackerel, Eel, Yellowtail, Tuna, Crab and Lobster

3. Oil Pump Tool (coins): Allows you to produce Crude Oil

4. Oil Reinery (32 FC): Allows you to produce fuel out of the Crude Oil to be used in your harvesters and seeders. You can store the Fuel Tanks in your storage. When you go to the Fuel Station to refuel, it will take not only the fuel tanks you have received as gifts from friends, but also all stored Fuel Tanks in your storage produced by the Oil Refinery. Both counters are displayed on the same line, ‘Fuel Tanks’, in the Fuel Station.

5. Taco Restaurant (coins): Produces different Taco products like Hard and Soft Tacos, Chicken Quesadillas and Burritos. You can get the Chicken or Meat as gifts from friends or Order them from the Semi-Trailer Truck.

6. You can now harvest your flowers. You can also hire people in the market to harvest your flowers: Flower prices have been slightly adjusted to accomodate this change. It functions like the trees, when you harvest a flower you get the coins and it’s restored to it’s original stage.

7. The current Flower Shop is now a facility (25 FC): Allows you to produces different flower buckets from the harveted flowers.

8. The frequency of the Mayor asking for gifts on the game has been reduced considerably, you should not see it more than 1 or 2 times per day.

9. The Semi-Trailer truck now deliver 3 times more Hotdog Sausages in the same period of time.

10. There was an annoying error when people were harvesting for others. If the farm where they were working had some Hens moving, the message ‘do you want to use this option for the remaining of this session….” was popping randomly, this have been fixed.

[Update: Taco Restaurant now rotates] Enjoy! Thanks –Raul

Farm Town Weekly Season III Episode 14

By Jethro Hill May 18th, 2010

My has the Farm Town Weekly community grown. Participation has been incredible these last few episodes. Like last week we had 8 people on the community call which included a surprise call from Jennie (Who’s That Girl) G’s Sister from California.

We gave many “Shout-outs” and even welcomed 2 new members to our Board of Directors. Congratulations Rob Terry and Ray Berard. Rob has become a regular guest on the show and Ray is responsible for creating FarmTally.com.

We covered several topics on this episode including facilities, the need for new levels, and the inflation problem of having too much coin and too few methods where that coin can be consumed. Mainly, we just had fun getting together and hope you will get together with us next Monday evening at 7:30 central time.

Farm Town Weekly Season III Episode 13

By Jethro Hill May 13th, 2010

This episode set a record for having the most people in our chatroom during the live recording. What was even more fun for me is that it also set a record for having the most callers (8) on the show at one time. On a personal note, “Thank You!” to all my friends for the incredible support and helping us to “Plant Community” wherever our voice can be heard.
