It’s been some time since I seen this Farm Town character. I was just doing a little farming with my friend Bill and after replanting my field I started tinkering around moving trees. Out of nowhere pops this dude asking me if I wanted to take a break and send some gifts. This is the same character you find when you click the “?” Help icon in the tool menu on Farm Town.
I had already sent my limit of gifts for the day, so I just told him not right now. I posted earlier about the extra holiday gifts and how you can buy a Small House with Lights for your friends who request one or request one from your friends. That is a great feature I hope they add to other items. Anyway, these were just some additions I noticed early this morning. Just a few minutes ago this guy popped up asking me to send gifts. I don’t know if I need extra reminders about gift giving, particularly when I have already sent my limit. I don’t know how often he will popup or if we can expect more in-game prompting in the coming days, but lets hope they don’t overload us with these because as it is, I can’t keep up with the chore windows I get every few seconds or couple minutes. That is a feature I would like to be able to either turn off or control in some way.

I just sent a friend the small house with lights, as he requested and it DID NOT cost me any coins to send it to him. So you’re really not buying a small house for your friends. The new holiday items that you can request for gifts don’t cost the sender any money, and you can request the small house for a gift, and people can send it to you. I requested it and got one, and I’ve sent a few. Well the Pine Tree with Lights, Palm Tree with Lights and the Small house with Lights, if you request them to be given to you as a gift, anyone can give them to you, you don’t have to be at a certain level, and it doesn’t cost the sender any money. Just wanted to let you know that.
That’s awesome David! I have sent 3 houses so far but only paid slight attention to my coin count when I sent the first one. I thought it went down but I could definitely been mistaken, and apparently I was. I really appreciate your clearing that up for us.

Is there a way to turn off the Gift Prompt guy, he pops in at the most inopportune times and is getting quite annoying.

I don’t know of a way to turn off any of the prompts but I’m with you. I have had him prompt me immediately after I just sent gifts so they need to work in more logic that controls when we are prompted or allow us a way to turn that off. I’d also like to be able to turn off the chore request prompts.

Hello… all these gifting & chore prompts can be very frustrating… would be so nice to be able to turn them off!!!
I would like the reminder to send gift not pop up at all. It interfers with my farming and is an nuisense.
Good News! They have fixed the Gift Guy (Mayor) so it is much less annoying. He only comes up 1-2 times a day rather than every couple minutes like he was on my farm.
