Farm Town Feature Update

Friday, February 26th, 2010

David Cooper sent me this information on the recent updates just prior to our last show so we could share it on the program. I decided to go ahead and post it here for you in case you have additional questions. For very detailed information about every aspect of Farm Town, please check out Davids “Farm Town Data Sheet.”

Chicken Coop: Allows you to harvest the eggs of the hens and geese and sell the eggs at the marketplace. The Hen is a new animal that your friends can send you as a gift. You can harvest them once every day.

Wool Shed: This is a new building that allows you to harvest the wool of the sheep and llamas and sell the wool at the marketplace. You can harvest them once every 2 days…. See More

Dairy Shed: Allows you to harvest the milk of the cows and goats and sell the milk at the marketplace. You can harvest them once every 3 days.

You just need to click on the animal building and select the harvest option. All the animals on your farm related to that building will be harvested at once. Note that depending on your computer power and other factors, having an exesive amount of animals on your farm can make the game slower.

The Dairy Shed has been moved from level 49 to level 27. A new Stone Cabin has been added on the level 49.

  • Cow’s Milk, 3 days, 100 coins
  • Goat’s Milk, 3 days, 90 coins
  • Sheep’s wool, 2 days, 55 coins
  • Llama’s wool, 2 days, 65 coins
  • Hen’s eggs, 1 day, 25 coins
  • Goose eggs, 1 day, 30 coins.

Also, your item storage capacity has been increased. Now you can storage 5 additional items for each neighbor you have.

Farm Town Weekly Season II Episode 4

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

For the first time ever, I am releasing an episode of Farm Town Weekly immediately after recording live at Talkshoe. We had some small audio issues at the beginning but other than that I think everything will be fine so please give it a listen and remember to tell your friends about us.

We welcomed 2 new Farm Town Weekly Board of Directors members, talked a little about the new latest new features, and enjoyed some chat with our friends in the chat room. Was a good time and I look forward to being with you again next week.

Happy Farming Photo Breaks Previous Record

Monday, October 12th, 2009

On one particularly fun day in Farm Town, I was over at Mountain Mamma’s farm with neighbors Clara Belle and Mayor Mark. Mamma had created a little race track and the 4 of us has having a ton of fun seeing who could get around the track the fastest. This day happened shortly after the new camera was added to Farm Town.

While our avatars stood there chatting with their  little chests heaving in an out as they caught their breath after the many sprints to the finish line, I had an idea to see if we could get a Farm Town Photo of all 4 of us, each having the words, “Happy Farming” in our talk bubble. Sounds pretty easy right? Well think again…

We did eventually figure out how to do a count-down and get around the chat glitch that prevents you from saying the same phrase over and over. Maybe that is to prevent spamming a farmers chat. Anyway, the photo worked out and so I posted a challenge asking others to get together with their neighbors to see if they could beat our record with their own group of neighbors. To this day, nobody has sent in any “Happy Farming” group photos, much less on that would break our 4-neighbor record.

Well, following our Season One Finale of Farm Town Weekly last Monday evening, friends and neighbors that participated in the live chat during the show and join us on the call all headed to my farm for a little finale party. Sure enough, we all decided it was time to beat the old record.  As you see in the photo, nearly all of us have “Happy Farming” over our avatar and I count 9 talk bubbles out of 10 farmers. A couple other neighbors visited while we were making our attempts but didn’t know what we were doing so they are off to the side. Thank you to everyone who made last Monday such a great time.

Snuggles the Bull and Karma the Cow wanted to be in the photo too, but they had too much crap in their keyboards to participate

Now that you know about the “Happy Farming” Group Photo Challenge, maybe you will either join in next time and help us raise the bar once again. One final note, tonight is of course the Kick-off Episode to Season Two and I will be inviting everyone participating in the show to my farm for some more fun like we had last Monday. We have lots of new items to discuss and I promise a laugh or two so please do join me tonight at 7:30 Central.

“Happy Farming!”

This photo was taken after a great day with the family at Gold Fork Hot Springs. Gold Fork is near Donnelly, Idaho and this picture was taken from the cab of my pickup on the way back towards highway 55.

You have to drive slow and careful to and from the springs because there are always cows standing in the road. However, these two were cuddled safely on the other side of the fence. Other than being cows, the scene don’t remind me of anything specific from Farm Town. This is however a great scene and I am thankful that I was able to capture this moment and share it with you here.

Please use the contact form to send your Farm Town Fotos to us so we can share them here with all our friends and neighbors.
